Extend your growing season
The insulation and protective properties of a Polycrub is the key in extending your growing season, especially in the cooler and harsher climates. The black hoops (recycled salmon pipes) have a good thermal capacity to store heat throughout the day and disperse it when the temperature drops in the evening.
Protection from harsh climates
Growing undercover has the benefit of protection from all the elements. Polycrubs can ensure your plants are unaffected by changes in the weather. The polycarbonate sheets used in our design (providing it is built to spec) have structural accreditation for wind speeds up to 120 mph.
Deterring pests
After the time and effort spent planting your crops, it is frustrating when the pests get to them. A Polycrub creates a barrier against larger pests, resulting in them being unable to access the crops. Weeds are also less likely to be able to spread whilst growing undercover.
Brilliant natural lighting
The polycarbonate sheeting allows in the natural light which is essential for growing. However, it is UV-protected, so should not be degraded by the harmful sunlight.
Good ventilation
Good ventilation is one of the things we repeatedly inform Polycrubbers about. This prevents plants from overheating and keeps humidity levels under control. Airflow is also crucial for pollination purposes. Polycrubs have multiple options for doors and windows, ensuring there will always be enough ventilation.
