It's a jungle in there!

Rob, a former commercial grower, had a 4 x 10m Polycrub shipped to West Wales at the start of 2021. He has been enjoying much success with his growing, and wanted to let us know how pleased he is with it.

“The Polycrub has wonderful heat retention and less condensation than a polytunnel. I made some raised beds with relatively wide paths as the plants always encroach onto the path more than you think. I put down landscaping fabric between the beds, with crushed stone on top to help hold the heat overnight.

Everything grew like mad! The stable door is a must to stop soil level winds, and the three windows at the other end are also necessary to keep mildews and other fungal problems at bay.

As you can see, I put in as much as I could into the space, and it all grew rapidly (hence the title of this post). The mangetout peas grew to the roof and back down again – I had to use a step up to pick the top ones! I also had success with strawberries and tomatoes much earlier in the growing season than I’d expected.

The Polycrub goes from strength to strength, and everyone admires its robust look, as well as the things growing inside. What a wonderful purchase.”
